Our nursery

An established Local Authority maintained nursery school in the heart of Chelmsford, delivering high-quality early education in a woodland setting.

Our purpose-built log cabin with its own garden, where our youngest children settle in and learn routines.

Our Blue, Red and Yellow Rooms, with indoor and outdoor free flow, the Forest Garden and our library.

A specialist speech and language centre run with Essex County Council's Speech and Language Service.

A warm welcome to all our new and returning families.

We have a limited number of 30-hour extended day places for 3 and 4 year olds.

On 7 January 2025 Ofsted rated Tanglewood Outstanding for the second time.
